Vikings Predictions
Sep 6th, 2008 by burnsie
It is that time of year again. The purple kool-aid tastes good and the fans have a lot of hope. Will the fans be rewarded this year? Here are my predictions.
.@ Green Bay. I think we’ll discover that the Packers last year was a fluke due to a great year by Brett Favre. Aaron Rodgers has less experience than Tarvaris Jackson, and Ryan Grant will come back to Earth. The Vikes pick up a big win on the road. 1-0
.vs. Indianapolis. This will be a tough one for the Vikes to win, even at home. The Colts are simply too good. 1-1
.vs. Carolina. The Panthers will be no match for the Vikes at home. 2-1
.@ Tennessee. While the Titans appear to be a decent team, they do not have the firepower to keep up with the Vikings, either on offense or defense. 3-1
.@ New Orleans. I don’t think the Vikes will be able to keep up with the Saints’ offense. If this game was at the Dome, I’d take the Vikes. But on the road, they will lose. 3-2
.vs. Detroit. Traditionally, the Vikes feast on the Lions, and this year is no exception. 4-2
.@ Chicago. I don’t think the Bears will be very good this year. Their QB situation is a joke, and the defense is getting old. Vikes win on the road, 5-2
.vs. Houston. It is tough to go against the Vikes at home. 6-2
.vs. Green Bay. Ditto. 7-2
.@ Tampa Bay. I know that Tampa was a playoff team last year, but I think the Vikes are better. Another quality win on the road. 8-2
.@ Jacksonville. This will be a close one, but the nod goes to the Jags at home. The Vikes’ win streak is snapped. 8-3
.vs. Chicago. No problem for the Vikes at home. On offense and defense, they are far better than the Bears. 9-3
.@ Detroit. The Lions pay the Vikes tough at home, but I think the Purple are just too tough. 10-3
.@ Arizona. I flip-fopped on this one several times. Perhaps the Vikes are due for a downer. I’ll take the Cardinals at home. 10-4
.vs. Atlanta. The Falcons are simply not good enough to beat the Vikes at home. 11-4
.vs. New York Giants. The Vikes rest most of their starters to get ready for the playoffs, while the Giants will be playing for a playoff berth. 11-5
Thoughts?
